If I hired a lawyer after she took the fees and never persuades the case. What should I do?
How can I know if my lawyer has committed malpractice? (Part II)?
I got a car accident 5 years ago. All along this time, my lawyer has only provided guideline for medical tests. In five years, he has not arrived to an agreement or brought the case into court. He says it is not the time yet, that I have to keep waiting for a total recovery. However, this is not going to be case as I have after effects.Statue of limitations did not expire yet. It seems this is the only thing former lawyer did. In addition, he's asking me for extremely high fees. For that reason, I sent him a letter asking for details. But, I don t like his answer as his fees are unjustified. What should I do next? Write him again? Call him?I totally agree with filing a grievance. Help me to list reasons for malpractice. How would you express them in legal language? Right now, I m writing my complaint. But, I ve my doubts. What about if the grievance commission decides that my lawyer proceeded rightly? Then, could my former lawyer bring me into court? If so, which consequences could I have?If my former lawyer doesn't seem to be bothered with my case is because he has received some $ from the opposing party? What do you think? Could it be possible? How could I find it out? Thanks for your help.

What type of lawyer should I use to dispute my water bill?
I live in the city of Houston and I've been receiving estimated bills. I have a feeling the city has been estimating for my property for way long than I've owned it. If the meter ever gets read I don't want to be stuck with an $X,000 water bill.

How do i find a lawyer certified in both Illinois AND Indiana?
my mothers patient rights were majorly violated but she was the only one in the room except for the employees who violated her rights. How would we make a case? If there is no one around to prove or disprove her claim does she have a case. secondly, we live in illinois and a lawyer told her today that an il lawyer cannot file a law suit against an indiana hospital is that true? i was thinking he didnt want the case since it's agianst a big hospital. im looking for a lawyer in illinois so we dont have to drive all the way to indiana to do this....she had open heart surgery and was told to stay in bed not to use her arms and ask for help getting up, but when she rang her light for help they would come on the intercom and say be right there...never show up. she has an amputated leg and they moved her wheelchair across the room so when they didnt show up she crawled to her chair and took her self to the bathroom. this put her at risk for infection among other problems. she asked to speak with the director or nursing to address these issues there were lots more and they never came. she signed out AMA after 9 days of this punishment and now we have a 25,000.00 bill. she also tried to get a copy of her records and they refused to send them to her, so she had her doctor call and they still refused until the doctor threatened to get a lawyer. there are so many more issues but here are the basics.i am the only one she has and couldnt be there because my physically and mentally handicapped brother had school and couldnt be left alone, nor could i afford to drive 5 hours to see her. so, dont be rude and act like u know the whole story. i am a medical professional myself and have worked in hospitals and this wasnt just a staffing issue.

Ok my dad was charged of drug trafficking with 2 kilos of coke in july 1999 he has to be in jail 15 years to pay for his crime, he has been trying to open a motion to get release since he said that the police statements were fruit of an unlawful search, I dont really care if it is I just know that has passed 11 years and it might be a way to get him out but I dont have money for a lawyer, its anyway that I can get a free lawyer you know those ones that the court assign to you if you dont have money beying a San Antonio, TX resident and the case being a Boston, MA case?Ok let me put it easy, its anyway him being guilty to get out of jail earlier than 15 years, I heard that if you do good behavior the judge give you less time to serve?
Lawyer threats - should I believe him?
Just under a year ago, this guy from my school he turned 18 this July thought it'd be fun to discriminate against me by pretending to be gay, asking me to do things with him, and basically harass me so I would admit to being gay. I played along with him cause I thought he may be gay, and since I'm not, I didn't want to hurt his feelings. We then spoke on msn one day and I said " I regret how things left off between us" cause I genuinely thought he was an okay guy. At that point, he started acting all weird again and so I told him that I am going to expose him for harassing me on Facebook by sharing our conversations in a note. I messaged him through Facebook inbox about 3 times so he would stop.Later, I get a message from him saying that he has spoken to his lawyer and he is going to sue me because I have made fake accounts on Facebook totally untrue , threatened him, harassed him, and discriminated. He also said I violated section 15 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms " 15. 1 Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability." As far as I know, this particular section of the Charter doesn't apply to me as it's directed towards government bodies or an employer who has discriminated you and as a result, you have lost pay. So at this point, I'm feeling confident that he doesn't have a lawyer because no lawyer would tell him he could sue me with that section of the Charter. However, my friend recently called him a month after I received a message saying he wanted to sue me and he told my friend that he is serious and isn't going to back out of the case because he will lose too much money. At this point, I am worried as hell. I am a minor he'd have to go for my parents. As well, I don't see how there is any money involved here for him to sue me for. He doesn't suffer from any depression and it's not like he is on meds cause of this. Can he sue me?
